About J+A

We live in Springfield, MO. Jeff is an ad man at Marlin and Angelina is a school teacher. This will be our first major vacation since our honeymoon to Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada back in October 2009. This road trip is one that Jeff has dreamed about since a trip with his parents to several National Parks back in 2005. Luckily, he married a fantastic woman who loves the outdoors as much as he does. What makes it even better is that she’s never been west of Kansas. Jeff gets to share his favorite places on earth with his wife for the very first time. Follow us as we blog, tweet, record and capture our road trip. We set out June 26.

A Note From Jeff:

My first experience with the western U.S. National Parks came the summer of 2005.  Two weeks before setting out for my freshman year of college at Evangel University, my folks and I packed up and headed west. At the time, my sister lived in San Fransisco. For some reason my dad and I decided we’d traveled from Harrisonville, MO to SF without stopping. We did it in 31 hours. After our stop in SF we traveled up Highway 1 to Redwood NP. Stops at Crater Lake NP, Yellowstone NP, Grand Teton NP wrapped up our western loop. Two years later, after a couple failed attempts at trips back West with friends, I departed on a trip again with my parents. This time we set out south to Grand Canyon NP. From there we traveled to Sequoia NP, Yosemite NP, Arches NP and back home.

These two trips had a tremendous impact on my life. Not only were they great memories with my parents but I got to see firsthand some of God’s greatest creations. The views and the feelings you get when visiting America’s National Parks are incomparable to any other place in the world. Whether it’s coming into the valley at Yosemite, standing next to the largest living thing on earth (General Sherman Tree) in Sequoia, gazing into Morning Glory at Yellowstone, or sighting your first Moose in Grand Teton, it’s an experience everyone should have an opportunity to be a part of.

I’m blessed to be able to take my wife to my favorite places on earth for the first time and I can’t wait to share it with our future children. It is important for us all to do our part in keeping America’s Best Idea the protected and incredible part of the US that it is. If you did not notice on the homepage there is a button for you to donate to the National Park Foundation. Their efforts to keep the parks thriving is something my wife and I have pledged to be a part of. I encourage you to donate as well.
